Privacy Policy

Robolyst (“the Service”) is operated by The Robotics Catalyst Foundation (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and team affiliation, provided when you sign in (including via third-party login such as Discord).
• Content you create — team pages, notes, financial records, and other data you enter into the toolkit.
• Identity & financial details — when you use card-issuing, reimbursement, or donation features we collect information such as your legal name, date of birth, phone number, and mailing address, along with donor name and email. This is used to issue cards, verify identity, send reimbursements, and process donations, and is shared with our payment processor (Stripe) and its issuing bank as required to provide those features.
• Usage data — basic logs such as pages visited, actions taken, browser type, and timestamps, used to operate and secure the Service.
• Public competition data — event, team, and match data sourced from the FIRST Tech Challenge Events API. This is public data, not personal information you provide.

How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Send notifications you have enabled and important account or service notices.
• Process payments and financial features where you use them.
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues.

Payments

Financial and card-issuing features are processed by Stripe. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored on our servers. Your use of those features is also subject to Stripe’s privacy policy and terms.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service (such as hosting and payment processors), when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public. Content you choose to publish (such as a public team site) is visible to anyone.

Minors

The Service is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The Service is used by FTC team members, some of whom are under 18; we collect only the information needed to operate the Service. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention & your choices

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at privacy@robotics-catalyst.org.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.

Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Robolyst. By accessing or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to access or use the Service. By using it you represent that you meet this requirement. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. Do not share credentials or use another person’s account without permission. Provide accurate information and keep it current.

Acceptable use

• Do not misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.
• Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
• Do not use the Service to harass others or violate the rights of others.
• Follow all applicable laws and FIRST program rules.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, store, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service. You are responsible for the content you create and for having the rights to share it.

Financial features

Some features involve payments, cards, and financial records processed through Stripe. You are responsible for the accuracy of financial data you enter and for complying with the terms of any third-party payment provider. We are not a bank and do not provide financial or tax advice.

Availability & data

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Competition data is sourced from the FIRST Tech Challenge Events API and may be incomplete or delayed. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Robotics Catalyst Foundation is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. The Service is not affiliated with or endorsed by FIRST.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users. You may stop using the Service at any time.
