How do I connect Robolyst to Claude or ChatGPT?
Last verified October 18, 2026
Copy your team's server URL from Settings > AI access, add it as a custom connector in Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini CLI, and sign in with your Robolyst account. A second, public server gives any assistant the FTC archive with no sign-in.
Robolyst runs two MCP servers. MCP is the standard AI assistants use to plug into outside tools.
| Server | Address | Sign-in | What it sees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your team's server | https://robolyst.org/mcp | Your Robolyst account | Your team's tasks, schedule, notebook, budget and more, limited to what your role allows |
| Public FTC scouting server | https://robolyst.org/mcp/ftc | None | Every team, event, match, award, ranking and advancement point in the archive |
Both addresses are on Settings > AI access in Team Management, each with a Copy button.
Connect Claude
- In the Claude app or on claude.ai, open Settings > Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste the team server URL.
- Sign in with your Robolyst account when the popup appears.
For Claude Code, the AI access page has a ready command you can copy.
Connect ChatGPT
- Open Settings > Connectors.
- Add a custom MCP server and paste the team server URL.
- Sign in with your Robolyst account when prompted.
ChatGPT only offers custom connectors on some plans. If you don't see the option, your account doesn't have it yet.
Gemini CLI
Copy the command from the Gemini CLI section of the AI access page, run it, then restart the CLI.
The sign-in step
After you sign in, Robolyst shows an Authorize app screen naming the app and the address it will send your sign-in to. If you don't recognise that address, click Deny. If you're on more than one team, pick the Team the assistant should work with. Then click Approve.
What the assistant can do
The assistant signs in as you. It sees exactly what your role lets you see, and nothing from any other team. Open What the assistant can do on the AI access page to see every tool, marked read or write.
Read tools answer questions. Write tools do things like create a task, log an expense, file an order request or save an announcement draft. Each one still checks your role, your team's finance policy and whether the feature is turned on. Nothing is sent out to your team from an assistant.
Members with "Manage settings" can see every change made through an AI client or API key under Recent AI and API changes.
Turning it off
AI Access is a switch under Features in Team Settings, and it's on unless someone turns it off. With it off, every assistant connection to your team stops working. To disconnect just your own assistant, remove the connector in that app.
