Teams and people
Archived member. Someone taken off the active roster with the archive button on Members. They keep their history and stay on the public site, but drop out of pickers and attendance registers.
Classification. Member, Alumni or Coach/Mentor. Chosen when you add someone, and it says who they are on the team. It's separate from roles.
Group. Your team on Robolyst. The claim and join screens say "group"; it's the same thing as your team.
Join code. An 8-character code that lets people join your group. It's also the end of your team's join link. You can regenerate it at any time, which stops the old one working.
Placeholder. A roster row with a name but no account. Placeholders can be given work and attendance. When the person accepts an invite, their account takes the row over.
Program. FTC, FRC, FLL, VEX, or Other for a team without a number. Only FTC teams can verify.
Verified team. An FTC group that has proved it controls its FIRST team record. Verifying unlocks the public profile, website, sponsors and bolts.
Roles and permissions
Default. The role everyone on the team holds. Nobody can be added to or removed from it, but its permissions can be edited.
Manager. A starter role every new team gets. It's an ordinary role: rename it, change it or delete it.
Owner. The role with every permission. A team always keeps at least one Owner.
Permission. One thing a role allows, like Approve & place orders. A member's roles add together.
Workspaces
Workspace. One area of the toolkit, such as Tasks, Schedule, Finance or Scouting. They're listed under Features in Settings, where most can be switched off for the whole team.
Planning
Season. The year your work counts toward. A team picks the month its season starts (between April and September, August by default) in Settings, and outreach, documentation, budgets and stats dated from the 1st of that month count toward the next game.
Template and run. On Checklists, a template is the reusable list, like a pre-match check. A run is one use of it that people tick off. Finishing or cancelling a run never changes the template.
Auto-run. A template set to start runs on its own schedule.
Money
Finance. The workspace for orders, expenses, budgets and reports. On its own it tracks money your team holds somewhere else, such as a school account.
Fiscal account. An optional part of Finance for teams under Robolyst's fiscal sponsorship, a shared 501(c)(3) umbrella. It adds a balance, cards, donors and reimbursements. US-based FTC and FLL teams only.
Points
Bolts. Robolyst's unit of credit for work done in the app. Each month, verified FTC teams are ranked by the bolts they earn from referrals, onboarding, contribution and usage, and the top three at or above the floor are granted money. See the board at /points.
