How do I verify our FTC team number?

In Settings, under Team Verification, click Verify team to get a one-time code. Put it in your FTC dashboard's Team Website field, on the website FIRST lists for you, or in a DNS TXT record, then click Check.
You need: Owner, or a role with both Manage settings and Manage team verification
Before you start
Verification is only for FTC teams with a team number. It proves your group controls that team's FIRST record, and it unlocks the team's public profile, website and sponsors. Once verified, the team number is locked; changing it after that means contacting support.
The Manager role doesn't include Manage team verification by default, so this is usually the Owner's job.
Start verification
- Open Settings and scroll to Team Verification.
- Click Verify team. You get a code, and three tabs for where to put it.
The code works for 7 days. Restart keeps the same code and picks up any website change on your FTC record.
Pick a method

The website and DNS tabs are greyed out if your FTC record has no website. Add one in the FTC dashboard, then press Restart.
Check it
Click Check. When it works you'll see Verified team, along with a reminder about putting your Team Website field back, if you used that method.
If Check fails
- "We didn't see the code in your team website field yet": FTC hasn't updated. Wait a few minutes and try again.
- "Please wait a few seconds before checking again": checks are spaced out. Pause, then retry.
- "Too many attempts": press Restart. It resets the count and keeps your code.
- "This team is already verified by another group": contact support through /contact.
