How do I fill in the match scouting form?
Last verified October 18, 2026
Open your event's Matches tab, tap a robot's number in a match, fill in what you saw and tap Save observation. Answer at least one question; the rest can stay blank.
Record one robot in one match
- Open your event in Scouting and go to the Matches tab.
- Find the match under Qualifications or Playoffs. Each match shows its four robots, red and blue.
- Tap the robot you watched. A sheet opens for that robot in that match.
- Fill in what you saw, then tap Save observation.
The schedule usually appears the morning of the event. Until then the tab says it isn't out yet.
Each tile shows a check once your team has observed that robot, and +2 (for example) when two other teams have too. Your own team's number is outlined.
What the form asks
Questions are grouped into Autonomous, Teleop, Endgame and General. The scoring questions follow the season's game. For the 2026 season they are:
- Autonomous points, Teleop points and Endgame points, each with plus and minus buttons. You can also type a number.
- Penalties drawn, from 0 to 10
- Played defense (Yes or No)
- Broke down or no-show (Yes or No)
Then there's a free-text Note of up to 500 characters. The note is shared with the event, so write it the way you'd say it to another team.
If your team added its own per-match questions, they appear below a line marked Only your team sees these. To set those up, see "Add your own questions" below.
Edit or delete an observation
Tap the same robot again. The sheet opens with your answers filled in. Change them and tap Save changes, or tap Delete to remove it. Your team keeps one observation per robot per match, so saving again replaces the old one.
Filters
The buttons above the list narrow it down:
- All
- Not yet observed: matches with a robot your team hasn't scored
- Our matches
- Played
No signal in the stands
The form keeps working offline. Saves are stored on your phone and a waiting to sync count appears at the top. They send on their own once you're back online.
Add your own questions
The Questions tab lets your team add private questions. Choose Asked per match under When it is asked to put a question on every observation, or Asked per team to ask it once per team on the Teams tab. Changing questions needs the Build picklists & scouting notes permission.
Where your observations go
Every team's observations at the event are pooled. They show on the shared report's Observed column and in each team's details, and they feed the picklist's recommendation score.
