- How do I set up scouting for an event? There's nothing to create. Once FIRST lists your team as registered for an event (or the competition is on your team's schedule), it shows up under Scouting and you can open it and start.
- How does QR pit scouting work? Each team fills in one short robot sheet about itself by scanning a QR code at its pit, and every answer lands on one shared report for the event that anyone can read. The QR comes from either the event's coordinator (a pit code) or a team that printed pit flyers.
- How do I fill in the match scouting form? Open your event's Matches tab, tap a robot's number in a match, fill in what you saw and tap Save observation. Answer at least one question; the rest can stay blank.
- Who can see our scouting data? Pit sheets and match observations are shared with everyone at the event. Your stars, tags, notes, own questions and picklist are visible only to your team. Your robot sheet is public on your team page.
- How do the watchlist and private notes work? Star a team, tag it and write notes on your event's Teams tab. Only your team sees them, they're kept per team for the whole season, and every starred team collects on the Watchlist.
- How do I scout teams before an event? Open the event in Scouting as soon as it's listed. The roster, each team's season robot sheet, and their Season OPR from other events this season are all there before the first match, and your notes carry across the season.
- How does the live picklist work during alliance selection? Each event gets one picklist for your team that everyone sees update live. Drag teams into order, mark do-not-picks, then Lock it so nobody can change it while you're on the field, and use Read off or Print to call picks.
- How do I read OPR and the other metrics? OPR estimates how many points a team adds to its alliance's score per match; higher is better. Every metric is explained in full, with formulas and caveats, on the FTC scouting metrics page.
- What do I do if something on our team or event page is wrong? Match results, rankings, awards, schedules and rosters come from FIRST's official data, so a mistake there has to be fixed at FIRST's end. Your team's bio and robot sheet you can edit yourself.
