Who can see our scouting data?
Last verified October 18, 2026
Pit sheets and match observations are shared with everyone at the event. Your stars, tags, notes, own questions and picklist are visible only to your team. Your robot sheet is public on your team page.
The short version
Scouting pages carry a small label saying who sees what's on them: Public on the event report, Only your team sees this or Public on your team page. Here is the full breakdown.
| Data | Written by | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Pit sheets (robot sheets at an event) | Each team about itself, or another team via a flyer | Anyone, on the event's shared report |
| Match observations and their notes | Any team scouting the event | Anyone, on the shared report |
| Your robot sheet (Our robot) | Your team | Anyone, on your public team page and event reports |
| Stars, tags and notes on other teams | Your team | Only your team |
| Answers to your own Questions | Your team | Only your team |
| Picklist, including do-not-pick | Your team | Only your team |
| Strategy boards | Your team | Your team, plus anyone you send a share link to |
Shared with the event
The shared report lives on the event page's Scouting tab. Anyone can read it, with or without an account.
Match observations from every team at the event are pooled there. Each robot's details show how many observations it has, from how many teams, and the notes people wrote. A note shows the observing team's number next to it, so other teams can see who wrote it.
Private to your team
Stars, tags, notes, your own questions' answers and the picklist are tied to your team. Nobody outside it sees them, and they never appear on the shared report for other visitors. When you're signed in, the report shows your team's notes next to each row; other visitors see only the public columns.
Per-match questions your team added appear in the observation form under Only your team sees these. The rest of that observation is shared.
Inside your team
Everyone on the team can read all of it. Writing is split:
- Any member can star, tag and write notes, and record match observations.
- Editing the picklist, the Questions list and Our robot needs the Build picklists & scouting notes permission. The default member role has it. Anyone who can manage roles can turn it off for a role.
- Creating or renaming scouting tags needs Manage tags.
