How do I read OPR and the other metrics?

Last verified October 18, 2026

OPR estimates how many points a team adds to its alliance's score per match; higher is better. Every metric is explained in full, with formulas and caveats, on the FTC scouting metrics page.

Things to keep in mind

OPR is an estimate. FTC only reports alliance scores, so a team's share is worked out from all the matches at once. After two or three matches it's noisy. It firms up as quals go on.

Consistency describes the alliance. It measures the whole alliance's results in that team's matches, not the robot on its own.

Season OPR is for before and between events. Event OPR is blank until quals start, so Season OPR is the best number you have early on. Once a team has played here, trust this event's numbers more.

Score is not a published stat. It's only on your picklist, and it compares each team against the others at this event. A score of 80 at one event doesn't mean the same as 80 at another.

Rank and record come from FIRST. Robolyst doesn't calculate them.

The full explanations

The FTC scouting metrics page covers every metric on the site, including Strength, Total Luck and the expert columns. For each one it gives the formula, how to read it, and what to watch out for. It also has a section on how accurate the numbers are.
