How do the watchlist and private notes work?

Last verified October 18, 2026

Star a team, tag it and write notes on your event's Teams tab. Only your team sees them, they're kept per team for the whole season, and every starred team collects on the Watchlist.

Star, tag and write a note

  1. Open your event in Scouting and go to the Teams tab.
  2. Click the star next to a team to add it to your watchlist. Click it again to remove it.
  3. Click the team's row to open it. Pick any tags, answer your own questions if your team has some, and write in the notes box.
  4. Click Save notes.

The same star and notes box appear in three other places: the shared report on the event page (when you're signed in), the team details on your picklist, and the Watchlist page. They all edit the same record.

Notes are kept to 2,000 characters.

Kept for the season, not per event

Notes, stars and tags are saved per team for the whole season. A team you scouted at your league meet still has your notes when you meet them at the qualifier, so you don't scout them twice.

Find what you wrote

The Teams tab has filters across the top:

  • All
  • Starred
  • No pit sheet
  • Not played yet
  • Unobserved

The search box matches team numbers, names, and anything your team wrote.

The Watchlist page

Every team you starred this season, across all your events, sits on the Watchlist. Open it from the Scouting landing page or from the link at the bottom of the Teams tab.

It shows each team's Season OPR (blended across every event they've played this season), Best rank, Events and Matches, plus your tags and note. Click a column header to sort. CSV downloads the whole list. To remove a team, use the remove button at the end of its row.

Answers to your own per-team questions can get their own column too. On the Questions tab, tick Show as a column on the Teams tab for that question.

Tags

Tags are your team's own labels, like "fast cycler" or "defense". Click Tags on the Teams tab or the Watchlist to add, rename, recolour or delete them. That needs the Manage tags permission. Anyone on the team can put existing tags on a team.

Who sees it

Only your team. Stars, tags, notes and your own questions' answers never show to other teams, even on the shared report. Everyone on your team can read and write them.
