How do I import another calendar feed?
Last verified October 18, 2026
Open the calendar subscription settings on the Schedule page, click Bring in a calendar, paste an .ics link and choose to copy the events once or keep them synced. Synced events update hourly and are read-only in Robolyst.
You need: Manage meetings permission
Use this for a school, district or club calendar you want on the team schedule.
Get the link
You need the calendar's .ics address. Links starting with https:// or webcal:// both work. For a Google Calendar: open its Settings, choose the calendar, go to Integrate calendar and copy the Secret address in iCal format.
Bring it in
- Open Schedule and click the gear icon (Calendar subscription settings).
- Scroll to Bring in another calendar and click Bring in a calendar.
- Choose a mode (see below).
- For a synced calendar, give it a name, like "School calendar".
- Paste the link.
- Under Show these as, pick the event type: Meeting, Outreach, Scrimmage or Other.
- Under RSVP, pick the mode these events use.
- Click Copy events over or Keep it synced.
Events from the last two months and the next year come across.
Copy once or keep synced?
| Copy the events over once | Keep it synced | |
|---|---|---|
| After import | Normal Robolyst events | Linked to the outside calendar |
| Editing | Edit, move or delete freely | Read-only. Edit them in the original calendar |
| Changes on the other calendar | Not picked up | Re-checked hourly, including cancellations |
| Attendance and write-ups | Yes | Yes |
A synced event's panel says "Imported from" plus the calendar's name. You can still change that one event's type and RSVP mode there.
Manage a synced calendar
Synced calendars are listed under Synced calendars in the same window, with an event count and when they last updated. For each one you can:
- Click the refresh icon to sync it now.
- Change Show every event as to retype all its events.
- Change RSVP on every event to set the mode on all its events.
- Click the trash icon to remove it. Its events come off the schedule too.
If a sync fails, the error shows in red on the calendar's card.
Find your cause fast
- "Calendar links must start with https:// or webcal://." You pasted something else, like a web page address.
- "That link is not an ICS calendar." The link opens a page, not a calendar file. Look for the iCal or .ics address.
- "That address is not reachable." The link points somewhere Robolyst can't reach from the internet.
- "Give the calendar a name." Synced calendars need a name.
