How do saved views work?

Last verified October 18, 2026

A saved view stores your current filters, search, sort and grouping on Tasks or Documentation under a name, so you can get back to them in one click. Views are personal by default, and people with the page's manage permission can share one with the whole team.

Saved views live in the Views section at the top of the filter sidebar on Tasks and on Documentation.

Save a view

  1. Open Tasks (or Documentation) and show the filter sidebar if it's collapsed.
  2. Set the filters you want. On Tasks that can include the search box, status, priority, assignee, subteam, labels, subsystem, award, the Mine toggle, grouping and sort order.
  3. In Views, click Save current view.
  4. Type a name (up to 40 characters) and click Save.

If you're allowed to share, a Share with the team checkbox appears before you save. Saving again under a name you already used updates that view.

On Tasks, a view also remembers which board you built it on. Opening a view saved on Gantt takes you to Gantt even if you're on the kanban.

Use and edit a view

  • Click a view's name to apply it. Click it again to turn it off and clear the filters.
  • Applying a view resets anything it doesn't mention, so no stray filter from before stays on.
  • If you change filters while a view is on, Modified appears with Save (to overwrite it, only on your own views) and Reset (to go back to the saved version).
  • Click the x next to a view to delete it.

Team views show a small people icon next to their name. The Default role has Manage tasks, so on most teams any member can share a Tasks view.

Recent

Below your views, Recent lists up to five filter combinations you used lately, so you can get back to one without saving it. Recents are kept in this browser only and don't follow you to another device. A recent applies to the board you're on.
