How do photo drop links work?

Last verified October 18, 2026

A photo drop link lets anyone, even without a Robolyst account, add photos to one outreach entry. Make one from the entry's photo button with Get a photo link for this event. The link works for 7 days.

You need: Log outreach to create a link. Anyone with the link can upload.

The person with the best photos from an outreach event is often a parent, a mentor or the host. A drop link lets them upload straight to your team's record of that event.

  1. Open Reach > Outreach.
  2. On a logged entry, click the photo button (it shows a count once there are photos).
  3. Click Get a photo link for this event.
  4. The link is copied to your clipboard and shown on screen. Send it to whoever has the photos.

Asking again while the link is still valid gives you the same link. After it runs out, asking again makes a new one.

Drop links are made from logged entries. For an event still under Waiting on a number, team members can add photos directly from its photo button, without a link.

What the uploader sees

The link opens a page titled with the event name and date. They can choose photos from their device or use Take photos to shoot with the camera. They don't need to sign in. The photos go to your team only.

Limits

LimitValue
Link lifetime7 days
File typesJPEG, PNG, WebP
Size per photo8 MB
Uploads per link120 photos an hour

When a link has run out, visitors see "This link has run out" and are asked to request a new one. Team members who are signed in can still use an expired link.

Privacy

Every photo is re-encoded when it arrives. Location, device details and capture time are stripped, so a photo of a school hall doesn't carry its GPS position.

Where the photos end up

Photos show as thumbnails on the entry. Once an entry has 3 or more, they're also gathered into an album named after the event and year in your team's image library. Anyone who can view outreach can add photos from the app; removing one needs "Log outreach".
