Why am I not getting push notifications on iPhone?
Last verified October 18, 2026
On iPhone, push only works once Robolyst is added to your Home Screen from Safari and opened from that icon. Then turn push on in My Notifications and make sure the events you care about have Push ticked.
Find your cause fast
- You're using Robolyst in a Safari tab. iOS only allows push from an installed app. Add it to your Home Screen first.
- You're in Chrome or another browser on iPhone. The Push panel says "This browser can't receive push notifications." Open Robolyst in Safari and install it from there.
- Push is off on this device. The Push panel reads Off. Each device has to be turned on separately.
- The event isn't ticked for Push. Check the Push column in Preferences.
- Do not disturb or Quiet hours is on. Both hold push back.
- You said no to the iPhone permission prompt. Robolyst can't ask again.
Install it from Safari
- Open Robolyst in Safari.
- Tap Share in the toolbar.
- Scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Open Robolyst from the new icon, not from Safari.
When you open My Notifications in Safari without installing, the Push panel shows these same steps under Two taps away on this iPhone.
Turn push on for this phone
- In the installed app, open your profile menu, then My Notifications.
- In the Push panel, tap Enable on this device and allow notifications when iPhone asks.
- The panel should now read This device receives push notifications, and your phone appears under Devices with push.
Use Send a test, then Push, to check it end to end.
Check what's holding it back
- Preferences: only events with Push ticked are pushed. If you're on more than one team, pick each team at the top of the panel.
- Do not disturb: if it shows Muted, Competition or a time, push is paused. Tap Turn off.
- Quiet hours: push sent during those hours arrives as one summary when they end.
If you declined the permission prompt
iPhone only shows the prompt once per install. Allow notifications for Robolyst in your iPhone's Settings app under Notifications, or remove the Home Screen icon, add it again from Safari, and turn push on again.
